We end the East Riding of Yorkshire FEASTival tour in Howden for a fifth and final serving of fun flavoured street festivities. We are at the heart of the town on the Market Place with Howden Minster providing an atmospheric backdrop and the Shire Hall featuring in the line up of independent retailers on either side of the street.

The FEASTival is an exciting fun filled weekend. Street foods, bars of distinction, alfresco dining, live music, comedy, children's entertainment, select grocery food & craft all served up with big helpings of humour, colour and character.

Following the development of town centre recovery plans with local elected members, we have identified locations that have the potential and desire to explore new events or markets. These events will act to generate interest and footfall in town centres and is an exciting opportunity for businesses to reach new audiences.

These events are being commissioned by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, through the ERDF Welcome Back Fund. They are being delivered by Market Square Group Ltd, a specialist events company with significant experience of running events such as this.

Want to be part of it?

Local businesses can still get involved and have 3 ways they can take advantage of these events in their towns:

  1. Take a stall at the event in your town or all the towns. Stalls will be available to local traders at a concession rate, this is a great opportunity to engage with a new audience in a different setting.
  2. Run a promotion at the same time as the event and the council will work with you to promote this as part of the event
  3. Extend opening hours to capitalise on the increased footfall in the town centre

Councillor Jane Evison, portfolio holder for economic development and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: "We are really looking forward to the FEASTival event in Howden and it will be a terrific way to bring communities together and back out to our high streets.

"I would very much encourage residents in these areas to visit the 'FEASTivals' when they are in their town and also continue to support the local retailers in the area as we all hope for a prosperous start to 2022. I very much hope these events bring interest and joy to our market towns during the darker winter months."
