New local community wind farm funding opportunities across East Yorkshire
A number of community funds linked to wind farm developments across East Yorkshire are now open to applications from community groups in specific eligible areas of benefit.
Applications can be made by organisations such as community groups, parish councils, schools and faith-based groups for projects that are of public benefit including charitable, educational, environmental, and not-for-profit activities.
The following funds are now OPEN to receive applications:
- Goole Fields Wind Farms Community Fund
- Withernwick Wind Farm Community Fund
- Lissett Wind Farm Community Fund
- Tedder Hill Wind Farm Community Fund
- Burton Pidsea Wind Farm Community Fund
- Twin Rivers Wind Farm Fund
- Routh Wind Farm Fund
Each fund receives an annual donation from the wind farm's operating company. The funds operate independently but each comprises of a decision-making panel of local representatives from parishes within the area of benefit. These panels assess applications and award grants with East Riding of Yorkshire Council acting as administrator.
Over the last two years, despite the pandemic, these funds were able to support a fantastic range of projects and activities from local community buildings to sports clubs and youth groups.
